Christmas dinners will be served to passengers in the restored Pullman-style steam train carriages throughout December as they travel through the Irwell Valley. Boarding begins at 7.15pm, the train departs at 7.30pm, and the journey lasts just under three hours. Guests will return to the station at 10.15pm.
Passengers will be served a sparkling welcome drink when boarding the train, and will then be served a four-course, silver-service meal, followed by coffee and after-dinner chocolates.
The Pullman-style carriages have luxurious furnishings and polished panels, and each group of diners will have a personal waiter or waitress.
Dining with Distinction Christmas Dinner tickets are priced at £77.50 per person, and are available to buy now on the East Lancashire Railway website. Diners have the chance to notify any dietary requirements in advance.
