The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway has launched its Santa Specials for 2023 with tickets now available to bookon their website.
The well-loved event has been running on the railway since 1981, with its classic recipe for festive fun – steam trains and Santa! making the beloved event part of family Christmas traditions for over 40 years now.
The Santa Specials will run on select dates from Saturday the 25th of November through to Sunday the 24th of December and feature return travel from New Romney to Hythe, including seasonal drinks and, of course, Santa in his Grotto.
Each child aged 1 to 15 years travelling on the Santa Specials will receive a quality, age-related gift.
The railway is encouraging families to arrive early for the Santa Special in order to enjoy a visit to the Model Railway Exhibition at New Romney ahead of the festive fun. Those wishing to make the most of the day can also add an All-Day Festive Breakfast prior to departure for Hythe at the Heywood Buffet on New Romney station.
The most popular date for Santa Specials is Christmas Eve, with departures taking place from New Romney at – 9:30, 10:55, 12:30, 14:00, 15:20, and 16:40. Because of the popularity of the specials on the 24th of December, families wishing to attend the event on the 24th of December are advised to book early in order to avoid disappointment.
