Lancashire and Yorkshire railway stations benefit from new information screens

Travellers using the Northern network can now enjoy upgraded customer information services, thanks to the deployment of 230 new display screens across 93 distinct stations.

The innovative white LED technology in these screens enhances visibility from extended distances and provides superior colour contrast, an advancement particularly valuable to those with specific visual impairments.

The new displays have been meticulously redesigned to provide train information in an easy-to-understand format, providing more precise details about train delays. These screens display vital safety information, such as ‘short platform’ alerts.

Northern’s larger stations, namely Bolton, Bradford Interchange, and , have been equipped with vibrant full-colour screens for a high-quality visual experience. Furthermore, installing 175 new public announcement speakers at various stations has significantly improved auditory communication.
