Great Western Railway has announced that it will not operate any long distance trains during the upcoming ASLEF strike action.
Additionally, no direct London Paddington to Reading trains will operate as well as no trains on many parts of its network on Saturday, 6th April.
Due to engineering work, no GWR trains will run between London Paddington and Reading, with strike action affecting other parts of the network as part of the rolling programme of action.
What trains will run?

Totally fed up with the train strikes now..I have a sick family member in Hampshire..I now have to phone GWR train information almost once or twice a wk to check on when “The Selfish” train people are going to STRIKE again. It’s not fair on all of us that need to get to work, or have to travel to visit sick relatives. TRAIN companies..your all lucky TO HAVE A JOB ..get a hold of yourselves!!!!!!!
first and last time ill book a train to london, total farce.
I totally agree with your comments about continuous strikes. It’s about time the, so called, transport secretary kicked ass.
The problem is that the Transport Secretary refuses to talk to the Unions.
Flipping sick of trains strikes.Public and passengers ask why trains cost so much but all strikes over last three years will have contributed greatly to running costs and lost revenue. What is significance of the , much publicised, offer to drivers by Avanti, to pay bega bucks for rest day working? In any event, why does this well paid group of workers continue to mess public around with these strikes. There is good money to be made from leisure travel on trains but with these sort of continueing uncertainty, many people will be put off.
