The HST for this year’s Staycation Express has been unveiled at Eastleigh Works ahead of moving up to Crewe today.
New rolling stock and an expanded route will feature for 2021, with a 2+5 HST operating trains from Skipton to Carlisle.
A new livery will be applied to the HST, with enhanced catering onboard, with at-seat dining and a buffet counter being made available.
Adrian Quine – Director of Rail Charter Services Ltd, said: “A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to build on the success of The Staycation Express last year. We are working closely with our partners and stakeholders with innovation at the heart of everything we do and look forward to announcing further initiatives soon.”
The power cars to receive the new livery are 43058 and 43059, which were in service with East Midlands Trains (East Midlands Railway) before being withdrawn.
Operated by Locomotive Services TOC Ltd, like in 2020, the trains will run every day except Friday, when the HST will head back to Crewe for servicing and sanitising.
Booking is available through the Rail Charter Services website for services that start next week.
