With industrial action being carried out by the RMT union, Merseyrail has had to make changes to its timetable between the 24th and 27th December.
The train operator had planned to run a 30 minute service across its network on the 26th December, but this is now no longer possible due to industrial action.
Strikes also means that the last trains on Christmas eve will now finish earlier than planned, with final services running at 16:30 on the 24th December.
Merseyrail has also confirmed that these changes will remain in place even if action is called off as rostering arrangements mean it will be impossible to reinstate services.
Normal weekday service will operate on the 27th December, when industrial action ends at approximately 07:30, with a limited bus service operating beforehand.
As is usually the case on New Year's Eve, services will finish at approximately 20:00 and on New Year's Day a 30-minute Sunday service will run.
Passengers are advised to visit the Merseyrail website for full details.
Why does rail advent support the strikes, every time I make a comment about the RMT union my mail is removed.
Hi Kevin,
I cannot see any comments that you have made that we have removed.
