Network Rail has announced that during the coronavirus crisis, there will be no parking charges for NHS and care workers using Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street stations.
Many healthcare professionals use the rail network to travel to and from work.
People are reminded that with only essential travel being recommended during the coronavirus pandemic, a reduced timetable is operating on the rail network.
What did the officials say?
Karen Hornby, head of performance and customer relationship at Network Rail, said:
“The NHS are going above and beyond to save lives during this crisis so it’s important that we support them as much as we can.
“If you need to park at the station, just have your NHS or care work ID to hand and you’re welcome to park for free.”
