South Western Railway has announced that they have launched a new ticket for its regular passengers on its trains.

The new ticket is for passengers who travel regularly on the same train journey, but not frequently enough for a season ticket.

Passengers who will benefit from the new ticket are part-time workers and also workers who regularly work from home.

Train passengers who have a Touch Smart Card can buy a 10 ticket bundle called Carnet.

These tickets are available at a 5% discount for use between the same origin and destination station and can be used for unlimited travel between the stations all day. Each ticket is valid for use on one day up to 2 months from the day of travel.

Another new ticket to the Touch Smart Card is Auto Renewal Monthly Season Tickets. These tickets allow passengers to buy 11 monthly season tickets and get a 12th free.

What did the officials say?

Alan Penlington, South Western Railway’s Customer Experience Director said:

“More and more people are working from home these days, and this new Carnet gives them – and those who work part-time, a tremendous amount of flexibility while also offering great value for money with a 5% discount.”
