What is the purpose of Flying Scotsman’s trip to Edinburgh?
When does it return?
This sounds a bit strange as they don’t like to run tender engines backwards at speed (if the weather is poor then there will be a lot of weather coming into the cab), so Bury to Carnforth backwards seem the wrong thing to do especially as there is a turning triangle at Castleton Junction.
I think they need a bit of joined up thinking.
