A (TPE) conductor manager will be taking part in next September’s to raise money for the Andy’s Man Club.

Lucy Kilby from Manchester has entered the Great North Run in memory of her much-loved former TransPennine Express colleague Dominic Johns and her father, and to raise money for the Andy’s Man Club charity.

The Great North Run is the world’s largest half-marathon, with a 13.1-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields.

I am honoured to be running for Andy’s Man Club.

Dominic, known to his colleagues as Dom, sadly died in March last year but had previously been a TransPennine Express driver manager based at Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street.

As well as commemorating Dominic, Lucy is running in memory of her late dad, Michael, and aims to raise funds for Andy’s Man Club.

Andy’s Man Club is a UK-wide men’s suicide prevention charity that provides free peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and is also available online.

The charity aims to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and use the power of conversation to help men with their problems.

TransPennine Express is a supporter of Andy’s Man Club, and last year adorned one of its trains with a special wrap dedicated to the charity.

The Andy’s Man Club Class 185 train operates throughout the north of England and spreads the message that encourages people to seek help when they need it.

The Great North Run takes place on Sunday, 8th September, and anyone wishing to support Lucy can do so on her fundraising page by clicking here to visit her fundraising page.

I wanted to do the run to celebrate two great guys and raise some money for a charity that is close to my heart.

Both had the most infectious smiles and never knew the impact they had on everyone they met.”

We need to remove stigma around mental health and Andy’s Man Club do this so well, their work really resonates with me and is something I talk about a lot with my colleagues.”

I am honoured to be running for Andy’s Man Club – it’s the perfect charity for me to support.
