Military personnel and veterans travelling to key Remembrance events in London can take advantage of free travel to the events.
Special travel arrangements will apply for those travelling to the Remembrance events as follows:
- Serving military personnel and veterans can travel for free if they are attending the Submariners’ Remembrance Service on Sunday, 5 November and the Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in Whitehall on Sunday, 12 November. The free offer applies for travel to any terminal station in London on either Saturday, 4 or Sunday, 5 November and for return travel from any terminal station in London on Sunday, 5 November only.
- Similar arrangements will apply for those attending the Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, when free travel will be allowed for travel to any terminal station in London on either Saturday, 11 or Sunday, 12 November, and returning from any terminal station in London on Sunday, 12 November only.
- Free return travel is also on offer for serving military personnel and veterans to travel to attend a Service of Remembrance outside of London, but that is only available on Sunday, 12 November.

To take advantage of the free travel offer current serving Armed Forces personnel must be in uniform, alternatively, serving military personnel or veterans should produce a current MOD90 Ministry of Defence-issued identity card, Veterans Railcard, Veterans Oyster card, Ministry of Defence-issued Veterans ID, or other form of identification showing the customer is a veteran (e.g., proof of pension).
Train operator Greater Anglia has also issued advice for travellers on its network planning to attend Remembrance Day events.

Will there be a free train to london for the remembrance parade on Sunday or Saturday for Vetèrans in 2024
Terry Person, it’s free transport on 11th and 12tg
This is great… but why are you planning on making thousands of elderly Veterans wait until Sunday to go home? stranded in London after the march past the Cenotaph for many hours in possibly freezing temperatures,to wait for a free train home again the next morning.. it’s either that or face paying for a single ticket home on Saturday which will be more expensive than the return ticket would have been… Call me cynical but it looks like you are trying to make money from the elderly veterans rather than help them.
