Steam locomotive 70000 Britannia to visit Bristol, Hereford and Shrewsbury this Wednesday

70000 Britannia will be hauling Saphos Trains’ The Welsh Marches Express this Wednesday, 7th September 2022.

The tour departs with diesel locomotives at 05:08 and will pass through Bournemouth (05:19), (05:41), Southampton Central (05:59), (06:13), Romsey (06:50), Salisbury (07:13), Westbury (07:43), Bradford-on-Avon (08:01), (08:18), and Bristol Temple Meads (08:53).

Here, the steam locomotive takes over the train. Departing Bristol at 09:13, the train will pass through Filton Abbey Wood (09:25), Severn Tunnel Junction (09:42), Pontypool and New Inn (10:32), (11:13), Craven Arms (12:38) and Shrewsbury at 13:05.

After a couple of hours in Shrewsbury, the train will depart at 15:46 and will return via the same outbound route, passing through Hereford (16:52), Pontypool and New Inn (18:12), Severn Tunnel Junction (18:47), Filton Abbey Wood (19:04), Bristol Temple Meads (19:13 – DIESEL HAULED FROM HERE), Bath Spa (19:47), Bradford-on-Avon (20:02), Westbury (20:16), Salisbury (21:03), Romsey (21:31), Eastleigh (21:51), Southampton Central (22:02), Brockenhurst (22:20), Bournemouth (22:47) and Poole at 23:02.
