Get in the Christmas mood by visiting Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway, and travelling on one for their Santa Special steam trains.

With a variety of options to choose from, there is bound to be something for you, with seasonal treats, breakfast with Santa, First-Class, Premium compartments and more.

Trains leave from Bolton Abbey Station (postcode BD23 6AF) for a one-hour steam train ride, with festive entertainment and a visit at your seats from the big man himself with a present for children (aged 3 – 15),

A beautiful carriage from the 1950s with lovely seats, picture windows and tables will be used for the First Class Santa Experience.

Tickets for this include : hot chocolate at your seat, childs present from Santa, a gingerbread reindeer, festive mug and of course, the one hour steam train ride with entertainment.

You will also get a 2-4-1 ticket for a return visit in 2022 (not for special events).

Trains leave at various times throughout the day, with a special evening Santa train leaving at 6.30 pm on selected days for that extra atmosphere.
