Alstom has announced that they have signed a contract to supply 20 regional trains to Italian operator Ferrovienord.
The contract is worth €125 million and the trains will be manufactured for delivery from June 2023 onwards.
The trains are from Alstom’s Coradia Stream range, and have a maximum speed o 160 km/h. Four traction motors supply the power for the single deck electric trains.
The new trains for the Lombardy region will be manufactured by Alstom in Italy. Consuming 30% less energy than previous generations, they are also 96% recyclable.
Various options are available for the Coradia Stream, they can be configured with different seating capacities, along with space for cycles and refreshment dispensers.
