The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has teamed up with Cropton Brewery in Pickering to create a ‘We’ll Steam Again’ beer to raise funds for the heritage railway.
The limited-edition beer is inspired by the popular bitters at the brewery.
It will be initially on sale at The New Inn, the onsite pub, from mid-July before being available in shops, online and at the NYMR.
For every bottle of ‘We’ll Steam Again’ sold, 10p will be donated to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, and for every crate of 12 bottles sold, £2 will go to the much-loved heritage railway.
Antony Towle, Marketing Manager at Cropton Brewery, said: “Just like everyone in Yorkshire and beyond, we absolutely love the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and were devastated to hear about its huge loss of income as a result of the current pandemic. As such an important part of Yorkshire’s history we’re excited to collaborate with the railway to launch ‘We’ll Steam Again’ and we have a feeling that this special charity brew will be really popular in our community and further afield.”
Chris Price, General Manager of NYMR, said: “After a few very tough months and so much going on behind the scenes to be able to announce an exciting collaboration with Cropton Brewery as well as our official reopening date on 1st August is the positive news we have all needed and have been waiting for.
“Cropton Brewery has such incredible community spirit, much-needed at a time like this and we’re so excited to launch and try a pint (or two) of ‘We’ll Steam Again’. The name is definitely symbolic of how we’re all feeling at the moment as we gear up for the reopening following months of undeniable support from everyone that loves the railway. Cheers to that”

I still like the ”’We’ll Steam Again”’ Tagline… I think it’s A Terrific Idea for A Drinking Brand and to help support not only the NYMR, but also the UK Preservation Movement.
I do like that creative tagline ”We’ll Steam Again”…
Especially the Idea of the North Yorkshrie Moors Railway’s Latest Idea of Teaming up with A Local Brewery within the Market Town of Pickering itself.
To Me (I Myself), It even References the Recently Late Great Dame Vera Lynn’s Wartime Classic Song ”We’ll Meet Again”.
And just now, It’s already quickly given me another idea for not just one, but 2 Creative Taglines (Whether for A Drinking Brand or the UK Preservation Movenment)…
”’Steaming On Together”’ And ”’You’ll Never Steam Alone”’.
Both Creative References to the Recently Successful Leeds United’s Catchphrase/Usual Tune ”’Marching On Together”’ & to the Scouse Football Team Liverpool’s Usual Tune/
”’You’ll Never Walk Alone”’.
