The North Norfolk Railway has announced that they will begin running passenger trains again from Wednesday 8th of July 2020.
Although trains will run, several changes have been made to meet social distancing and safety measures to ensure passengers, staff and volunteers are safe while travelling.
The changes can be found below:
- Pre-booking only – Tickets are sold per compartment (which have a capacity of eight people). Only your group will travel in the compartment booked. Only the compartmental coaching stock will be used.
- Four return trips by steam per day – The timetable will consist of four trips from Sheringham to Holt and return a day.
- Travel starts at Sheringham only – All passengers will start their journey at Sheringham Station, travelling to Holt, which is only open to people travelling to Holt by train. Both Weybourne and Kelling Heath Park stations will be closed. Only NNR staff, volunteers and ticket holders are allowed to use Sheringham and Holt Stations.
- Social distancing – Controlling the movement of passengers to ensure social distancing and other safety measures are met.
The new services have been designed to meet social distancing regulations, ORR requirements, and meet the Visit Britain Visitor Kitemark standards.
Tickets should be available to purchase now. For more information or to book your tickets, please visit the North Norfolk Railway’s website here.
