The fire appears to be on farmland on the hill next to the railway and not at the railway as reported in the fire service tweet below.
The Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that crews are battling with a grass fire near the Churnet Valley Railway. Three crews are currently in attendance at the fire.

There is no confirmation of whether the fire has damaged any railway property at the time of writing.
This could not have come at a worse time for the CVR – they are currently closed with no income due to the Coronavirus Crisis. Want to help? You can donate to the Churnet Valley Railway by clicking here.
