London Northwestern Railway has announced that Northampton passengers will benefit from faster afternoon services to London thanks to a new timetable which comes into operation this month.
The new timetable comes into operation on Sunday 15 December, bringing a number of changes aimed at improving reliability and capacity for passengers on the WCML.
Additional carriages will also join the London Northwestern Railway fleet in the new year.
These carriages will be used to increase the length of trains between Northampton and London Euston, including trains that call at Tring, Hemel Hempstead, Milton Keynes and Watford Junction.
What did the officials say?
Jonny Wiseman, head of customer experience for London Northwestern Railway, said:
“We know that passengers travelling between Northampton and London in recent months have been making journeys which are not as good as they should have been.
“I am pleased that the overdue carriages we have been waiting for have now started to arrive and these will be used to increase the length of some trains on this incredibly popular route.
“We are also making other changes to simplify our timetable, helping us to improve the reliability of our services and make a difference to our passengers. More improvements will follow next year.”
