Over at Dinas, more progress on the Welsh Highland Railway’s NG G16 Garratt 130 has been made.

The coal bunker, freshly back from Boston Lodge paint shops, has been fitted to the rear power bogie, along with the sandboxes and floodlight.

The lamp brackets are the next item to be reattached.

The cab is the next component to be removed shortly and will be sent off to Boston Lodge for a repaint and should return before Christmas or the New Year.

Progress has also been made on the ashpan.

At the time of writing, it is 60% complete and is the latest design that is also fitted to sister locomotive NG G16 No 87.

The ashpan should be completed by the end of November and fitted shortly after
