70000 Britannia will be on the mainline this Wednesday as it heads to the Welsh capital of Cardiff.
The tour departs Preston behind a diesel locomotive at 06:40, the train will then pass through Wigan North Western (06:57), Warrington Bank Quay (07:26), Hartford (07:54) and Crewe at 08:12.
Here, 70000 Britannia is added to the train, departing Crewe at 08:42, the train will pass through Whitchurch (09:02), Shrewsbury (09:48), Craven Arms (10:21), Leominster (10:40), Hereford (10:57), Abergavenny (12:15), Newport (12:45) and Cardiff Central (13:03).
The return trip will depart Cardiff at 16:47, it will pass through Newport (17:12), Abergavenny (17:42), Hereford (18:10), Ludlow (19:52), Shrewsbury (21:02), Whitchurch (21:28) and Crewe at 21:56.
Here, 70000 Britannia is taken off the train, and is replaced by the diesel again. Departing Crewe at 22:26, the train will pass through Hartford (22:41), Hartford (22:41), Warrington Bank Quay (22:56), Wigan North Western (23:16) and Preston at 23:37.
