Steam locomotive 60163 Tornado in Carlisle this Saturday

60163 Tornado will be back in steam on the mainline and will be passing through Blackburn and Settle on Saturday 13th April 2019.

The A1 locomotive is on a railtour from Birmingham to Carlisle.

The train departs Birmingham New Street behind a diesel locomotive at 07:48 and will then pass through Tame Bridge Parkway (08:06), Wolverhampton (08:25), Stafford (08:47), and Crewe, where Tornado is attached to the train. From here, the train heads via Hartford (10:23), Wigan North Western (10:55), Cherry Tree (11:32), Blackburn (11:38), Long Preston (12:44), Garsdale (13:39) and Carlisle at 14:56.

The return trip will see the train depart Carlisle at 17:15, before heading via Penrith (17:37), Tebay (17:58), Oxenholme (18:09), Lancaster (18:49), Preston (18:09), Wigan North Western (19:46), Warrington Bank Quay (20:00), and Crewe (20:33). From here, the diesel locomotive will take the train back via Wolverhampton (21:55), and Tame Bridge Parkway (22:09) to Birmingham New Street, arriving at 22:38.
