25% discount for students travelling with London Northwestern Railway

London Northwestern Railway has announced that it is offering a 25% discount for students travelling to school or college by train.

A term-time season ticket is being offered by the operator to and from selected stations on its network.

The Student Season Ticket aims to make train travel a more affordable option for families and to encourage young people to consider a range of options for travelling to study.

The tickets will be available to purchase online and may also be available through some schools and colleges.

The Student Season Ticket will be available for journeys to and from the following stations:

North Staffordshire and Cheshire

  • Hartford
  • Crewe
  • Stoke-on-Trent
  • Stone
  • Stafford

South Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire

  • Tamworth
  • Atherston
  • Nuneaton
  • Northampton

Bedfordshire and Three Counties

  • Wolverton
  • Milton Keynes
  • Leighton Buzzard
  • Tring
  • Berkhamsted
  • Hemel Hempstead
  • Apsley
  • Kings Langley
  • Watford Junction
  • Bushey
  • Harrow & Wealdstone
  • Stewartby
  • Bedford St Johns
  • Bedford
  • St Albans Abbey
  • Garston
What did the officials say?

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director for London Northwestern Railway, said:

“Travelling to school or college by train can be a fantastic choice for many. The Student Season Ticket offers the flexibility of a traditional season ticket, but at a price that reflects travel during the school and college terms.

“With timetable improvements being introduced from May, and further investment into rail services planned over the next few years – it’s a great time to encourage young people to use train services to travel for their studies.”

  1. What about West Midlands Railway? Students could also save 25% on their train fares across the West Midlands area aswell in Birmingham.
