Greater Anglia has announced that buses will run instead on trains on the East Suffolk Line this Sunday, 12th August 2018.

The Rail replacement buses are because Network Rail will be carrying out improvement works to the tracks.

Greater Anglia is now advising passengers who are travelling on the Ipswich to Felixstowe and Ipswich to Lowestoft lines to plan ahead. Buses will run between Ipswich and Felixstowe and Ipswich and Woodbridge.

Trains will run as normal between Lowestoft and Woodbridge.

What did the officials say?

Alan Trett, Greater Anglia’s Assistant Area Customer Service Manager, said:

“We would like to thank passengers for their patience while this work is carried out. This work is vital to maintain and improve the railway, and we have arranged a replacement bus service, where appropriate, so passengers will still be able to complete their journeys.

“We would ask passengers to check journey details before they travel, so they can plan accordingly.”
