East Anglian rail passengers will benefit from more trains and over 7,000 extra seats a week when Greater Anglia launches its new timetable.
The timetable change affects the whole country, and we have already covered Govia Thameslink Railway and Northern, and they all come into effect on the 20th May 2018.
Extra summer Sunday services will operate between Norwich and London and between Norwich and Lowestoft, Ipswich, Peterborough and Felixstowe. Additional services on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays on the Norwich to Great Yarmouth line.
Greater Anglia will also be introducing two extra services between Cambridge and Bishop’s Stortford.
Some services in the timetable have been retimed slightly and there will be rail replacement services at weekends between Ipswich and Felixstowe due to engineering works.
What did the officials say?
Martin Moran, Greater Anglia’s Commercial Director, said:
“Our extra summer services to the capital and coast are back to help boost tourism, days out and shopping trips by train in East Anglia.
“We’re also keeping the 100,000 extra seats we created last year to ensure a more comfortable journey for the 1 million passengers we serve every week.”
