The Merseyside Tramway Preservation Society has announced that, regrettably, the re-opening of the Museum has been delayed.
The society has been unable to get the museum ready to reopen on the 26th May 2018.
Their new target re-opening date is now set for the 21st July 2018.
This will allow the contractors to finish the work to their highest standard and also allow the volunteers time to prepare the displays and make sure all areas are tidy, clean, and most importantly, safe for the public to enjoy the revamped museum.
What has the work involved?
Inside the building, there have been some changes, including, a new entrance foyer, new cafe, new toilets (male, female, and disabled), new exhibition and workshop spaces, a new upper mezzanine viewing area and full disabled access with their new lifts and carers steps.
