The Mid Hants Railway Wagon Group has given their latest update on the work they do to keep the wagons moving at the Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line).
The weather was great for a working party, but unfortunately, Keith hurt is his back, so was reduced to Richard, Chris S and Brian.
Brian and Richard set out to clean the roof of the Queen Mary brake van which had seen a large amount of moss growing in recent weeks – this was most noticeable on the town side.
Whilst this was being cleaned, it was noticed that the town side of the Van B763661’s zinc roof was starting to become detached, further investigations were completed and a temporary repair was completed, pending further work.
Meanwhile, Chris had continued to clean down the outside of the cattle wagon cupboard door and gave it a coat of Bauxite – all this was done in the hope that the sun would help the paint dry quicker, unfortunately, this wasn’t the case.
A good weather day at Alton on Wednesday – John and Chris took the opportunity to adjust the handbrakes of the milk tank and LMS van M 520771.

What did they say?

No working party at Medstead on Saturday … they all had invites to the wedding!
