The local Hampshire public has taken to social media to name Hampshire’s first gin train, which is being run on the Mid Hants Railway (The Watercress Line) on the 5th May 2018.
The Watercress Line recently gave their Facebook followers the chance to create the name for the headboard of the train.
Over 1,200 people voted. The winner being ‘Juniper Express’ – close contenders were ‘Tonic the Tank EnGINe’, ‘The Botanical’, ‘Mother’s Ruin’, ‘Ginny McGin Face’ and ‘The Gin Reaper’.
Sponsored by Fever-Tree and in partnership with Winchester Distillery and Pulpo Negro, the first time experience demonstrates gin’s rise in popularity by selling out in ten minutes.
Due to popularity, the Mid Hants Railway has added a second date, 29th June 2018, but that sold out in two minutes!
Passengers on board the Juniper Express will be able to enjoy cocktails created with Winchester Distillery’s famous Twisted Nose Gin, appropriately made with locally grown watercress.
