Transport for London has announced that they will be putting on 40 free guided walks in early February.
Walks include #BehindEveryGreatCity ‘Suffragette City’, a Sculpture Trail and a family walking quiz
The #BehindEveryGreatCity walk is part of Sadiq Khan’s (Mayor of London) drive for gender equality across the capital.
There is something for everyone!
Februarys walks include:
Saturday 3 February 2018
- From Prejudice to Pride – this walk takes you through the heart of Londons modern LBGTQ+ community in Soho. You will learn about the fight for equality in the capital.
- The City Sculpture Trail – featuring Sculpture in the City’s exhibition, which includes a life-size racehorse, a parachute, and other peculiarities
- Family Favourites – the walk that’s also a quiz. You will see the tube station in which Harry Potter and Mr Weasley use, and how it could have made Big Ben fall over!
Sunday 4 February
- #BehindEveryGreatCity Suffragette City – discover where it happened with a walk through west minister to learn about the fight for ‘Votes for Women’
- A Challenging Walk, the Greatest Rewards – Only for the fit, this is a muddy steep and strenuous walk. The pace will be brisk, walking through 8,000-year-old woodland.
- Cinema Walk – from Charlie Chaplin to Harry Potter.
Each walk is led by an experienced Walk London guide. Please click here to book your place.
