The Severn Valley Railway (SVR) is running a Festive Season Service to mark the departure of both 34053 “Sir Keith Park” (SKP) and 7812 “Erlestoke Manor” from hauling trains on the SVR.
34053 “Sir Keith Park”
Although only 5 years through its current Boiler Ticket, SKP will be leaving SVR in January 2018. This is due to the 5 Year contract, which saw the engine based at SVR, was up for renewal, but neither SVR or SKP’s owners, Southern Locomotives Ltd, decided to renew the contract.
SKP will normal move to the Swanage Railway, which is close to the base of its owners.
7812 “Erlestoke Manor”
Owned by the Erlestoke Manor Fund, 7812 is coming to the end of its current 10 Year Boiler Ticket, with its last day in service being the 31st of December 2017. 7812 has been based at the SVR ever since it was restored in 1979. The aim is to have 7812 back in service in 2020.
Festive Season Service
7812 is planned to be in steam on the December 26th, 27th, 30th & 31st, with 34053 planned to be in steam on January 1st and 2nd.
