East Lancashire Railway – 2024 Legends of Steam Gala – 4K Video

The East Lancashire Railway held their Legends of Steam Gala in March 2024 and brought in some mainline thoroughbreds to haul trains.

70000 Britannia visited for the gala thanks to Locomotive Services Group alongside 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, which visited thanks to The Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust and Locomotive Services Group.

LMS Jubilee No. 45690 Leander was also on an extended stay at the railway, visiting thanks to Chris Beet and West Coast Railways Co.

These three hauled a number of Heywood to Rawtenstall trains, with double headers and express runs included.

We visit every station on the line, and also see L&Y 0-6-0 Saddletank No. 752, masquerading as 11305 at the gala, hauling shuttles between Heywood and Ramsbottom to boost capacity on what was a very popular gala.

The set includes around 2 hours of footage from the gala, with visits to Townsend Fold, Summerseat Viaduct and Burrs Country Park all included alongside onboard footage.
