Weekend services on the c2c line between London Fenchurch Street and Barking will be severely disrupted for engineering work on six consecutive weekends from Saturday, 1st June.
The work will affect services on Saturdays and Sundays from the weekend of 1st/2nd June to the weekend of 6th/7th July.
During these weekends engineers carry out the following work:
- Inspect bridges, culverts, and structures, between Fenchurch Street, East Ham and Barking.
- Installing new track at Fenchurch Street station.
- Carry out maintenance of conductor rails and general track maintenance next to Transport for London infrastructure around West Ham station.
- Inspect sewers at West Ham to identify potential drainage problems.
- Clear overgrown vegetation from various locations to remove obstructions from signals/signage, minimise the risk of falling trees and branches, and reduce the amount of leaf fall in the autumn.

Service Alterations
Basildon and Rainham lines
- Services will be diverted to Liverpool Street and stop at Stratford.
- Services will not call at Limehouse or West Ham.
- Tickets will be valid on Jubilee line services between Stratford and West Ham, and Docklands Light Railway services between Tower Gateway, Limehouse, and Stratford/West Ham.
Ockendon Line
- A shuttle will operate between Upminster and Grays via Ockendon and Chafford Hundred.
- Passengers for services to London or Southend should change at Upminster or Grays.
In recent years, research by the independent watchdog Transport Focus has shown that commuters on c2c are among the most satisfied travellers in the country and gained recognition for the punctuality of its services.
The work Network Rail is carrying out during these weekends in June and early July is essential in keeping our services running safely and reliably in the longer term.

Network Rail should start on replacing ageing overhead wires on the Pitsea-Barking line and from Barking-Fenchurch Street and Grays-Upminster line since the Class 720/6s have entered service. And what about Basildon station with the missing platform on platform 2 and to replace Purfleet station to build a new railway station.
