Advice for football fans travelling by rail to Spurs v Brighton

has issued advice for football fans travelling to watch the Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton and Albion football match on Saturday afternoon, including confirmation of extra stops at station, and which carriages to use on the longest trains.

With both clubs still in contention to qualify for European football next season, it is sure to be well-attended and passionate. The match will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and kicks off at 15:00.

Trains will run with the maximum number of carriages available. Greater Anglia is advising fans travelling on ten-carriage trains (listed below) to Northumberland Park to board the front seven carriages only. Doors on the rear three carriages will not open at Northumberland Park station.

Extra staff will be available to help at stations along the route, including , and .

Before the match, 45 services will make additional stops at Northumberland Park station, to help football fans travel to the game. The following services will be 10 carriages long and customers for Northumberland Park should use the front seven only:

After the match, queueing systems will be in place at Northumberland Park and stations to ensure that everyone can safely access the station and board the train.

A further 58 services will make extra stops at Northumberland Park after the match. The following services will be ten carriages long and customers will be able to board the front seven carriages only:

Pete Mellar, Area Customer Service Manager, Greater Anglia, said: “This game will be very popular, and so customers are advised to check before they travel and expect to queue after the match.

“Our new trains are longer and have more seats. However, we would ask everyone to be patient while boarding as we are expecting higher than usual passenger numbers on these services. Once on the train, we would encourage passengers to move down the aisle and use all the space available.

“To save time, passengers are advised to buy tickets online or via the Greater Anglia app before they travel. Groups of three of more people can save a third on fares with GroupSave.”
