Brodie Engineering and Eversholt Rail have announced the overhaul programme for the Class 320 fleet is on course to be completed on time for November 2021.
22 of the Class 320s will receive an overhaul between January 2020 and November 2021, modernising the fleet and providing vital maintenance to key components across the units, such as traction equipment.
This work should, therefore, reduce the amount of downtime and breakdowns in the future.
All work is being carried out in Kilmarnock, where Brodie Engineering's Bonnyton Works is based.

Why not upgrade the Class 320s as part of the Renatus project just like the Greater Anglia Class 321 which 30 of them were upgraded to be part of the Renatus program. And maybe cascade some left over Class 321/3 or 321/4 to ScotRail so that they can operate them on the Strathclyde suburban lines and on the newly electrified East Kilbride branch line. Once the electrification is completed.
