Class 40 locomotives and LMS steam locomotive to pass Stafford this Thursday

Not one, but two Class 40 locomotives and an LMS Scot steam locomotive will be on the mainline tomorrow, 15th October, and will be passing through Stafford.

BR Class 40 40145 will be hauling 40106 ‘Atlantic Conveyor’ and 46100 ‘Royal Scot’ to the Severn Valley Railway, before returning to Crewe with some Mk3 coaches.

Please note: Loco allocations in this article are given in good faith are believed to be correct at the time of writing.

Departing Crewe HS at 07:58, the trio will pass through Madeley (08:15), Norton Bridge (08:27), Stafford (08:32), Penkridge (08:42), Tame Bridge Parkway (09:13), Hamstead (09:17), Smethwick Rolfe Street (09:34), Langley Green (09:40), Rowley Regis (09:44), Cradley Heath (09:50), Stourbridge Junction (09:56), Blakedown (10:01), and Kidderminster SVR at 10:17.

After dropping off 46100 Royal Scot and 40106, 40145 will pick up some Mk3s and will depart at 12:22 and will take the same route back north, passing through Stourbridge Junction (12:41), Langley Green (12:52), Hamstead (13:06), Bescot Stadium (13:12), Penkridge (13:55), Stafford (14:03), Madeley (14:20) and Crewe HS at 14:32.

    • 40106 went back to the East Lancashire Railway earlier this year. However on the 14th October 2020, 40145 hauled 40106 to Crewe from the ELR.

      With regards to Braunton, i believe that is still being fixed at Bridgnorth
