Steam locomotive 70000 Britannia to visit Carlisle this Saturday

70000 Britannia will be in this Saturday (13th April 2024) as part of The Lakelander tour.

This tour was scheduled to head via the Cumbrian Coast line but due to the derailment at Grange-over-Sands, this tour is now heading via the and Carlisle line.

The tour starts at Leicester behind LSL diesel locomotives and will depart at 06:26 and will pass through Narborough (06:37), Hinckley (06:48), Nuneaton (06:56), Tamworth (07:19), Lichfield Trent Valley (07:31), Rugeley Trent Valley (07:43) and (08:22) and (08:52) and Preston at 09:17.

Here, 70000 Britannia is added to the train and will depart at 09:56. On its way to Carlisle, it will pass through (10:31), (10:48), Penrith North Lakes (12:04), and Carlisle at 12:26.

After time in Carlisle, the train will depart at 16:30 and will pass through (17:19), Horton-in-Ribblesdale (18:12), Hellifield (18:46), (19:37), (19:59), (20:33) and Crewe at 21:12.

Here, the diesel locos from earlier take over the train and will take it back to Leicester via (21:59), Rugeley Trent Valley (22:14), Lichfield Trent Valley (22:25), Tamworth (22:34), Nuneaton (22:51), Hinckley (23:05), Narborough (23:20) and Leicester at 23:35.
