Class 40 locomotive to haul final day of The Staycation Express from Skipton

Update: RCS have advised us that it is possible that 40145 could be on either end of the train

has announced that will be hauling the final day of their Staycation Express between and .

40145 will haul the trains on the and Carlisle line for one day only on Saturday 12th September 2020.

The Class 40 locomotive is on a 6-month loan deal between Locomotive Services Ltd and The Class 40 Preservation Society, and this will be the first time that the locomotive has hauled trains with Locomotive Services Ltd since the start of the deal.

Due to social distancing, tickets must be sold for at least two people boarding at either Skipton / Settle, or boarding at Appleby for the return trip.

Tickets must be purchased in advance via the Rail Charter Services website by clicking here.

Rail Charter Services has also confirmed that 40145 will be hauling the Northbound services (Skipton / Settle to Appleby), with the ‘whistler' being on the tail end of the train between Appleby and Skipton. 47712 Lady Diana Spencer is expected to be on the other end of trains. Up until Saturday, 37667 will be on the north end of trains.
