This week, Transport for Wales revealed the first batch of trains to have rainbow stickers as a tribute to all those who are keyworkers helping fight against Covid-19.
Within this challenging time, a rainbow represents ‘thanks to all keyworkers’ to all staff in Rail, NHS, and shop staff that are helping keep everyone across the nation fed.
One hundred stickers were fitted on six trains at Cardiff Canton, and this weekend, Machynlleth and Chester depots will also receive the stickers.
Have you seen the stickers on your essential journey? Let us know in the comments below.
Ken Skates, Minister for Economy, Transport and North Wales said: “From the lighting of bridges and castles to colourful drawing appearing in windows across our nation, rainbows have most definitely become a visual ‘thank you’ to our heroes in the NHS and our key workers, who are working tirelessly to save lives and keep vital public services running. I hope seeing them now on the trains we have endeavoured to keep running during these difficult times will lift everyone’s spirits, not least those on the front line in the fight against Covid-19.”
James Price, Transport for Wales CEO said: “I’d like to thank all key workers, including those representing TfW, who are truly dedicated and supporting the country in the fight against Covid19. Across the whole of our network, we’ve seen a collaborative team approach, and it’s great to fit these stickers to our trains and show support to those on the frontline.”

Amazing work from Transport for Wales. They will be getting their new rolling stocks coming in from 2022-onwards.
Wonderful effort from Transport for Wales. Well done. Chiltern Railways have also decorated some of their trains with the NHS livery.
And also Transport for Wales have ordered the new trains that will be coming in the next few years.
