On the 15th and 16th of June, dinosaurs are to make a visit to the Spa Valley Railway.

This is to be an exciting day out for all the family, especially for children who are mad about anything related to the prehistoric.

Visiting with a specialist team of rangers and handlers between 10am and 4:30pm, members of the public will get up close to lifelike 66 million year old dinosaurs as they are put on display at the stations and travel on the trains as part of the Dinosaur Experiences.

Appearances and interactions by the Dinosaurs at will be around 20-minutes at a time because of the busyness of the station at the event.

Dinosaur Express trains will be running across the two-day event and will feature both Steam and Diesel haulage throughout the day, as you make your way between the four stations of Tunbridge Wells West, High Rocks Halt, and meeting a wide range of prehistoric species.

The Spa Valley Railway's Green Timetable will be in operation on both days, with trains leaving Tunbridge Wells West at 10.15, 11.30, 12.55, 14.10 and 15:35. While services will depart from Eridge at 10:50, 12:05, 13:30, 14:45 and 16:10.

Smaller dinosaurs will be travelling on the trains. Those travelling on the services will meet with the Baby Velociraptor and the slightly bigger Teenage Dinosaur.

Tickets can be bought on the day or on the Spa Valley website for one or both days.

Each ticket will enable free travel on all 5 return train journeys between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge so you can see all the exhibits and meet all the prehistoric creatures.

Prices for the event are:

  • Adults £18,
  • Seniors (Over 60s) £17,
  • Children £11,
  • Family (2+2) £47.

If the thought of meeting animals from the prehistoric is not your cup of tea, the has other special events happening in June.
