More than 100 children in Greater Manchester will have smiles on their faces this Easter thanks to the gifts of chocolate eggs donated by staff at train operator TransPennine Express (TPE).
The staff work in the train operator's service delivery team that runs the day-to-day operations of TransPennine Express.
They came together and between them collected a total of 130 eggs, to help brighten up Easter for some of Manchester's children.
The eggs were donated to the Mustard Tree charity, which operates across Greater Manchester to provide food, clothing, furniture, and training for people in the area who need help.
Although Easter is usually a time for celebration and giving, for many parents and families in Greater Manchester, it is also a time of incredible pressure as Easter eggs are an unaffordable luxury.
To help such families, each year, the Mustard Tree charity asks for donations so it can help low-income families to give their children something to make Easter memorable.
Mustard Tree is just one charity that TransPennine Express supports, as each year it invites charities and community groups to submit applications for funding to support their projects.
Many of Britain's railway companies also support charities, and earlier this month GB Railfreight chose the Great Ormond Street Hospital (Children's Charity) as a charity partner for the next two years.
Well done to our colleagues who have donated a huge number of eggs to Mustard Tree this year.
