On weekends in March, engineering work will affect train services between Norwich and Ipswich, and between Ipswich and Cambridge/Ely.
The work will include renewal and maintenance of the track, overhead lines and signalling equipment, carrying out work on the drainage, and inspecting the infrastructure.
Other staff will also be working to clear any vegetation that could pose a risk to railway operations.
The work will take place on Saturday and Sunday 2/3, 9/10, 16/17, and 23/24 March, and will affect Greater Anglia services on the following routes:
- Norwich to Ipswich;
- Ipswich to Cambridge North;
- Ipswich to Ely;
- Ipswich to Bury St Edmunds (Saturday and Sunday 23 and 24 March only).
On the first three weekends, there will be connecting trains between Cambridge and Cambridge North, and between Ely and Peterborough.
On 23 and 24 March, connecting trains will run between Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge/Peterborough.
Anyone intending to travel on these weekends should check their journey plans in advance at nationalrail.co.uk or greateranglia.co.uk and leave extra time to complete their journey.

It is about time the signalling between Ely and Peterborough was replaced to bring this line upto modern standards to increase both line speed and train frequency
Network Rail should also continue on replacing the last section of overhead wires in Southend-on-Sea (Prittlewell-Southend Victoria). And to start work on building a new station building at Wickford on the Southend Victoria Line.
