One-pound tickets on sale in northern’s ‘Flash Sale’

is running a three-day ‘Flash Sale' with five million tickets for selected journeys across the North of on sale for prices of one pound or more.

The operator held a similar sale at this time last year, but with some tickets at just 50p.

Tickets are available now and until 4pm on Friday (5 January) from Northern's website.

‘Flash Sale' tickets are valid for travel between Wednesday 10 January and Friday 1 March 2024. Passengers must book them at least seven days in advance of travel.

Journeys for which ‘Flash Sale' include:

  • Barrow-in-Furness to , Carnforth, Lancaster, Millon, , and Preston
  • (North & South) to Blackburn, Colne, , Manchester Oxford Road, Preston, North Western and
  • Bradford (Forster Square) to Ilkley, and Skipton
  • Carlisle to Leeds, Middlesbrough, and
  • Chester to Leeds, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria
  • Hull to Bridlington, Doncaster and York
  • Leeds to Bradford Forster Square, Carlisle, Chester, Doncaster, Halifax, , Huddersfield, Ilkley, Knaresborough, , Lancaster, Manchester Victoria, Morecambe, Nottingham, Selby, , Skipton and York
  • Liverpool to Blackpool North, Manchester Airport, Manchester Oxford Road and
  • Manchester (Piccadilly) to Buxton, Chester, , Hadfield, Manchester Airport, Sheffield, and Wilmslow
