The Railway Benefit Fund (RBF) is to hold its annual auction of once-in-a-lifetime rail experiences that money can't buy.
Successful bidders will win a once-in-a-lifetime experiences and at the same time support the Railway Benefit Fund charity that provides help to current, former and retired railway staff and their dependents across the UK.
Train enthusiasts and supporters of railway workers should mark their calendars as the Auction of Rail Experiences provides a unique chance to win incredible adventures that are bound to leave a lasting impression.
The charity has the goal of raising £25,000, and every bid is a step towards reaching that goal so that the Railway Benefit Fund can continue supporting railway workers and their families in times of need.
Among the once-in-a-lifetime adventures on offer at this year's auction are:
- A Trip on the New Measurement Train for up to 10 people
- Tour of Central Rivers Depot and CrossCountry 1st Class Return Tickets
- Visit to Basingstoke ROC Including Simulator
- Playing trains at Pete Waterman's home.
- Meeting Pete Waterman at The Great Electric Train Show.
- Enjoy the excitement of a ride in a train cab or witnessing the action from a signal box.
- Visiting the iconic Scottish landmark, The Forth Bridge.
- A Private trip for up to 60 people on Lord Hendy's Routemaster Bus.
- A VIP Day Tour with Network Rail on the Transpennine Route Upgrade
- Guided Tour of Neville Hill TrainCare Centre
- Tour of the Chiltern Tunnels and Colne Valley Viaduct on HS2
- Tour of Old Oak Common Depot where the Elizabeth line trains are maintained.

The Railway Benefit Fund, also known as the RBF, was established in 1858 to help railway workers in need. Through the generosity of its supporters, it helps current and former railway workers in areas such as financial grants, confidential advice, online tools and a legal helpline.
The charity provides support when the unexpected happens, and is available to anyone working, or who has worked, in the railway, including passenger, freight, infrastructure, supply chain and ancillary services.
As well as the Auction of railway experiences, the Railway Benefit Fund also holds an annual Railway Family Day, which this year was held in the last week of April.
