Our subscription rates for RailAdvent Plus are changing, read on to see if you may be affected, and also how you can beat the price increase.
Back in June 2021, we introduced our current 12 month website subscription at £34.99
Fast forward to December 2023 and our costs for the website have increased substantially, for example, our website hosting costs are now 35% higher than they were in 2021.
Unfortunately this means that we have no choice but to increase the subscription rates to cover these extra costs and ensure that we can continue to invest in new features.
From January 7th 2024, a 12 month subscription to the website will cost £39.99, with a monthly subscription increasing from £3.49 to £3.99
These rises are below what the Bank of England inflation calculator suggests, and we have worked hard to keep the rise as low as possible.
There is however, some good news!
If you currently have an active recurring payment setup for your membership, prices will be held at £34.99 for 2024, regardless of when in the year your renewal is due to take place. The price freeze for 2024 also applies to monthly members, who will see their subscription rate stay at £3.49 each month during 2024, as long as an active recurring payment is in place.
In addition, if you have been thinking of taking out a subscription, then do so now, and take advantage of the current rates, and no price increase during 2024. You can sign up today by clicking here

Some of you have asked why we use recurring payments? The answer is simply to keep the costs down. When someone becomes a member, we have to set their account to give them access to all the member only pages on the website, streaming video, access to discounts, as well as setting them up with the member only newsletters etc. When a subscription is cancelled, all that work has to be undone at the appropriate time, if you then signup again, all the setup work has to be done again. This becomes very time consuming. Remember that you can cancel the recurring payment at any time, having it in place saves us lots of time, and our way of saying thankyou to you, is to hold the subscription rates for 2024 at the current level.
