Hull Trains receives award for being ‘Best Place to Work’ in the city

At this year's Live Business , was recognised as the city's “Best Place to Work”.

The achievement of the award came after a year in which Hull Trains has seen record employee engagement levels and an ongoing commitment to improving diversity and colleague wellbeing, as well as maintaining a strong focus on its customers.

The Hull Live Business Awards provide recognition for outstanding local businesses, and by the contributions that they make to communities in Hull and East Riding make it a great place to live and work.

Now in their 23rd year, the awards honour the region's best businesses and those who contribute to their success, from the boardroom to the shop floor. In achieving its award, Hull Trains was recognised for its exceptional dedication to nurturing an inclusive workforce and its continued efforts in prioritising colleagues' growth, development, and well-being.

At a national level, Hull Trains has gained numerous honours for its work towards well-being, diversity, and equality, and last May the company came away with the top employer award at the prestigious Women in Rail Awards.

As a company, Hull Trains continues to be more successful and was recently recognised by the for being the UK's most reliable and best-performing rail operator.

Hull Trains employs 108 local people and has been operating trains directly from Hull to London since 2000, and now runs 94 services a week. Its latest hi-tech bi-mode fleet of trains is the most modern and innovative trains on Britain's rail network.

Earlier this year, the company's Service Delivery Director, Louise Mendham was awarded ‘Outstanding Employee' of the city at the annual Hul Business Improvement District awards.

Louise Mendham, Service Delivery Director at Hull Trains, said: “We've invested heavily in creating a working environment in which our colleagues feel proud to work here and where we can attract the right new talent. This award is a real testament to the work we've done over the past few years and I'm extremely thankful to the whole Hull Trains team.”
