Police seek public’s help after man assaulted at Birmingham station

has issued an image captured from CCTV as part of their investigation into an assault at Moor Street railway station in Birmingham.

The assault occurred on Monday, 18 September at around 9.40 am when a man tried to climb over the railings to avoid going through the barriers.

A member of staff challenged the man, who responded by spitting at the staff member and barging through the barriers before taking a drink from a WH Smith stall.

A member of the public tried to intervene but was kicked and punched, whilst the assailant threw a vape at a second member of the public causing a cut to her head.

Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could help their investigation. If anyone recognises the man in the photograph or has any other information about the incident, they are asked to contact British Transport Police by text to 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 and quoting reference number 155 of 18 September.
