Last month, Greater Anglia started work to upgrade the car ark at Audley End and completed work at Harlow Mill railway stations. They followed a trial period of reducing the cost of parking at some of its railway stations in an effort to attract people back to rail travel.

Greater Anglia's Asset Management Director, Simone Bailey, said “It is really important that our car parks are maintained to a high standard so that we meet the expectations of our customers by providing them with excellent facilities.

“I am pleased that these upgrades are taking place and I hope that our hard work will make a real difference for users.

“During the upgrades, we will do everything we can to minimise inconvenience to car park and station users and we will endeavour to keep noise and disturbance to our neighbours to a minimum.”

  • If Wickford car park is to be revamped then what about building a new station building as well to make it lot nicer and brand new since the old building was knocked down to allow platform 1 to extend to accommodate the 5-Car Class 720 trains working on the Crouch Valley Line to Southminster.
