East Railway (EMR) is advising passengers who travel by car to station to allow extra time while work is carried out on nearby roads.

The work will start next Monday (10 July), and will involve resurfacing roads and pavements outside the station, including on nearby Railway Terrace and Midland Road.

A one-way system will operate until the end of this year, and while it will not obstruct access to the station, or to Zone 1 and Zone 3 car parks, it will mean that it will take longer for cars to reach the station for parking or dropping off passengers.

Derby City Council is undertaking the project, which will improve links from Derby station and Pride Park to the city centre. it will create new routes, footpaths and bridges.

Neil Grabham, Customer Services Director at said: “We welcome these important works which will make it safer and easier for our customers to travel to the station.

“Although they do not impact access to the station or our car parks, customers are advised to leave extra time to travel to our car parks or station drop offs while the works are underway.”
