  • Really this is going on too long, the unions are playing into the Tories hands who seem to want an excuse to run down the industry or even close it. On a personal note how can I book a holiday using rail? I am now worried that I will have to use a car to get where I want to go – or go abroad and take my money out of the country. Either way its the workers, as always, who lose out whenever Unions and Tories get together, I am convinced they are on the same side. After all, RMT supported the Tories with Brexit.

  • People should be very concerned at the plus 300 million misappropriated by the govt to deliberately prolong these disputes
If the Tories want a scrap with Britain’s citizens then let the Tories fund it via their members not my taxes

  • These strikes are taking the mick now. Its stopping people including myself from getting to important appointments, getting to shows and other things they have booked. The greed is unbelievable they get paid at least twice what the normal worker gets so cancel the strikes, take the deal offered and get the rail system running again otherwise passengers will be lost and less money will be made for the rail network

    • That’s the idea of a strike….. to disrupt the railways and to put pressure on the government to negotiate! It makes me laugh when people say strikes are inconvenient…. That’s the idea!

    • Aye, it’s a hard life. Imagine having to lose wages to force the government to give a pay rise even close to what you’ve lost over the last decade of misrule – and to stop the deterioration of the railways as a service. Actually the problem is the need for profit. People and service are a distant second. Power to the unions.

  • These rail workers are really starting to do my nut in, inconsiderate, people still have to get to work and if they can’t you assholes are costing us money times are tough as it is, you are paid a decent wage way more than some that are really struggling your actions are making it even worse selfish gits

  • Find a different way to get to A To B there not reliable, Get the mega bus .. ditch the trains all together

  • Further …Why couldn’t ASLEF have been having discussions with Rail Delivery Group, separate but simultaneously to RMT.Are we going to end up with RMT settling their pay dispute but ASLEF one going on for another God knows long?

  • Thought RMT in talks now, if so why carry out more strikes. Aslef strikes 1 and 3 February??How long do they want to go on disrupting are railwaysDo they not want some form of normality themselves? What is point of rail system if we cannot use it properly?

  • How much long are these strikes going on for. Each time there is a strike, I either have to take unpaid leave or holiday which is three days on each occasion. This is now getting ridiculous.

  • And so the rail unions set the route for their own extinction. Blinded by greed, they can’t see the signals are set at danger!

  • No point having a railway system anymore. Another £60 down the drain on my wife and I’s railcards.Any point booking for Easter or ever.

  • Stop messing about with train strikes and get a pay rise so people can enjoy themselves during the school holidays in July so they can go to the Seaside to have a nice day out so they won’t have to travel by bus
