(TPE) train services are set to be severely disrupted on several days during the next two weeks due to industrial action by the Rail, Maritime and Transport union () and the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association (TSSA) unions.

The net effect of the combined industrial actions will be that TransPennine Express will only be able to run a very limited number of services. The only services running will be between and , and anyone intending to travel should only do so if their journey is absolutely necessary. In addition on the days following each strike there will be a reduced train service with trains starting later and finishing earlier than usual.

Anyone intending to travel to major events on strike days, such as the Scotland vs Fiji rugby match in and York Record Fair on 5th November, and the Rugby League World Cup fixtures in and Huddersfield, should seek alternative modes of transport.

We are strongly advising those planning travel on this particular route to only do so if their journey is absolutely necessary.”
