Elton John and The Killers concerts to get extra Norwich trains

Extra trains are being run for music fans attending The Killers and Elton John concerts in Norwich.

Greater Anglia will run the extra trains and adjust the times of some services so music fans can travel to the events by rail. The concerts are being held at Norwich City Football Club's ground at Carrow Road in Norwich.

The Killers are performing on Thursday, 9th June, and Elton John will take to the stage in Norwich on Wednesday, 15th June.

After the concerts, the following services from Norwich are scheduled to run:

Norwich to Lowestoft

• 22.50 (rescheduled 22.40) and 23.20 (extra train), calling Brundall, Cantley, Reedham, Haddiscoe, Somerleyton, Oulton Broad North, and Lowestoft.

Norwich to Cambridge

• 22.52 (rescheduled 22.40) calling Wymondham, Attleborough, Thetford, Brandon, Ely, Cambridge North, and Cambridge.

Norwich to Great Yarmouth

• 23.00 calling Brundall, Lingwood, Acle, and Great Yarmouth.
• 23.40 (additional service) calling Brundall Gardens, Brundall, Lingwood, Acle, and Great Yarmouth.

Norwich to Ipswich

• 23.05 and 23.25 (additional service), calling Diss, Stowmarket, and Ipswich.

Norwich to Sheringham

• 23.05 (time adjusted from 22:45) and 23.27 (additional service), calling Salhouse, Hoveton & Wroxham, Worstead, North Walsham, Gunton, Roughton Road, Cromer, West Runton, and Sheringham.

Norwich to Ely

• 23:15 (additional service, operated by East Midlands Railway), calling at Thetford and Ely

The station and trains are expected to be busy, and there will be extra members of staff helping people with their journeys.

“To save time and beat the queues, passengers are advised to buy tickets online or via the Greater Anglia app before they travel.

“Our new trains are longer and have more seats, however we would ask everyone to be patient while boarding as we are expecting higher than usual passenger numbers on these services.”
